SUMMARY: Red skin color, blush, is highly desired in fresh market peaches and is the least desired trait in the processing peach, making it a major selection criterion in breeding programs. A DNA test that can predict the level of blush in peach fruit was developed by Paul Sandefur and Terrence Frett and the RosBREED Stone Fruit Breeding Team.
